Position Summary:
A person who has served a Machinist’s apprenticeship of 1-10 years or who has equivalent knowledge and experience, is capable of operating machine tools, doing precision bench and floor work, using precision measuring instruments, reading blueprints, making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work and determination of machine feeds and speeds, laying out work, making set-ups and carrying complete mechanical projects through assembly and testing in the manner of a craftsman.
Operate computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts. Loads parts in machine, cycles machine, detects malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools. Run production lots, communicate with co-workers regarding productions runs, and maintains safe, organized and clean work environment.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Perform typical machine shop operations.
- Operate CNC machines once set-up has been complete. Run multiple machines where cycle times allow.
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.
- Must be able to perform, but not limited to, the following tasks: milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing and sanding.
- Perform inspection of machined products (including documentation of results).
- Inspect and measure parts after machining operation is complete to verify the operation was performed according to instruction on the traveler and drawing.
- Complete and maintain paperwork for parts. Sign off traveler to confirm operation was performed successfully.
- Able to operate 100+ mm Horizontal Machines centers
Position Summary:
Performs First-Piece, In-Process and Final dimensional inspections of close tolerance machined components with minimal supervision under the direction of the VP of Quality and Reliability. Knowledge of conventional surface plate set-ups is a must but most of the inspection work will be performed using PC-DMIS based CMM platforms. Our AS9100C certification requires a strong emphasis on QC documentation and records maintenance. The deal candidate will also actively promote safety, production and quality standards. Must possess good verbal and written communication skills and be able to interact across all levels of the organization. Maintaining the security and confidentiality of our customer’s products and documentation is also strongly emphasized.
Integrated Manufacturing Group (IMG) is a well established ISO-9001, AS-9100C certified, precision fabrication facility located in Livermore CA. We are currently seeking a seasoned precision mechanical inspector to join our QA department.

Scope: Responsible for developing and maintaining technical capability that gives Integrated Manufacturing Group (IMG) a competitive edge and for new product introduction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the production process by resolving technical issues and providing technical supervision
- Assist in all aspects of the NPI Process
- Assist with the technical aspect of sales
- Communicate engineering issues with customers
- Create engineering masters
- Create Op drawings or Fixture drawings when necessary
- Set criteria for production
- Coordinate/Assist with machining issues

- Internal Non Conformance Material (NCM) rate

Desired skills and experience:
- Expertise in reading and understanding mechanical drawings, dimensioning and tolerance
- High ability to design machining processes for build-to-print parts.
- Ability to work with CAD software and to design fixtures and create drawings needed for machining.
- High knowledge of precision machining workmanship standards
- > 5 years machine shop experience

Job Duties:
Serve as lead contact for estimating/quotations with specific aerospace customers and all Toll projects. No set $ limit for quotation assignments. Create and manage ECN (Engineering Change Notices) for existing parts, make appropriate changes to engineering masters, open work orders and process prints. Create CAD model, operational drawings for Fixtures, existing and NPI jobs. Perform all aspects of Project Engineering (estimating, process, CAD, issue resolutions, customer communication, P&L, closed job & process improvement). Lead Continuous Improvement projects to achieve corporate goals for cost reduction and cycle time improvements. Expert level manufacturing & process engineering knowledge. Assist in real-time troubleshooting problems related to manufacturing, logistics, QA and engineering. Develop in process control sheets for new parts along with inspection plans for IMG Quality Department. Work with ERP system to manage costs, on time delivery, and execution of NPI and Continuous Improvement jobs. Assign core customer/sector as primary Point of Contact – Aerospace. Mentor, direct, and oversee junior engineers/interns.
Job Requirements:
Require Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering with specialization in Supply Chain Production. Require Certification in Lean Systems, Six Sigma, and Solidworks Essentials.
